Dr David Parker is an internationally recognised real estate industry expert and highly regarded real estate academic, specialising in property valuation, property funds management, expert witness and mediation, being a director and adviser to real estate investment groups including listed real estate investment trusts, unlisted funds and private real estate businesses.

REITs, Property Funds Management and Property Investment

Over 15 years of experience in funds, portfolio, asset and property management as an Associate Director with Schroders, Senior Investment Manager with ANZ Funds Management, and Portfolio Manager Property with Suncorp Metway Limited.

Property Valuation, Valuation Standards and Statutory Valuation

As Valuer General of New South Wales, General Manager of the Commonwealth’s Australian Valuation Office, Acting Commissioner of the Land and Environment Court of New South Wales, and Sessional Member of the South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (SACAT) hearing valuation and compulsory acquisition cases.

Expert Witness and Mediation

Advising on and providing expert witness reports and giving evidence in property valuation and property funds management matters in VCAT, the Supreme Court and the Federal Court with extensive mediation experience as an Acting Commissioner of the Land and Environment Court of New South Wales.

Teaching, Research and Course Design

For over a decade, Dr Parker was Professor of Property at the University of South Australia, and is now a Visiting Professor at the Henley Business School, University of Reading and a Visiting Fellow at the University of Ulster.
